When you're young it's not that you think you'll live forever,
it's just impossible to conceive that the world would exist
without your weight pinning it to the Earth through each day.
Even that thought isn't something you pause to consider,
because there's so many important you things your mind insists
are the only place attention can possibly be paid.
Only age, distance traveled, and the wear and tear of life,
can grant you the moment where it finally clicks
and you realize just how limited your time has always been.
In that moment the struggle leaves behind wrong and right,
and moves more into every moment you can still pick
how to fill full your life so it won't matter that it won't come again.
